Dear Temple Micah Members and Friends: Welcome to Temple Micah’s 42nd High Holiday services, held each year since 1969 at the historic Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. Our original mission was to provide a warm, comfortable atmosphere where all individuals are welcome and can realize their own connection to Judaism without financial burden, and we continue to fulfill that mission. To meet our financial obligations, which keep rising each year, we have made a small increase in our membership dues for the first time in many years. However our minimal membership dues do not cover our expenses; we depend on additional contributions from members and non-members to support our religious, educational, and cultural offerings. Since our High Holiday services are open to the public and we do not require special tickets, we especially encourage non-members who attend to be generous with their contributions. The major reasons we are able to provide so much for so little is that we have been blessed with the hard work of dedicated volunteers and the gracious hospitality, fellowship and facilities of the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. This is the third year of their ambitious $1.5M capital campaign, “Strengthening our Foundation for Today and Tomorrow.” Most of the funds will be used for major repairs and renovations to the grounds and the historic church building (our shul). Temple Micah pledged $15,000 ($5,000/year for 3 years), and I am delighted to report that we are right on target, with just over $10,000 in donations for the first 2 years. We are asking you to pitch in again this year so we meet our pledge and demonstrate our appreciation for the goodwill of our friends at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. Please complete the Membership Form and return it with your check to: Temple Micah
Be sure to indicate any special interests you may have in Temple Micah programs and activities. We look forward to seeing you on September 8th on Erev Rosh Hashana.P.O.Box 6355 Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Sincerely, Bob Pollack President |
